Article TIME  "Driving Us to Distraction"

STUDENT GOVERNMENT IS PROUD TO SPONSOR THE Driver Safety Promise. Sign up to add your name to the list of people committed to the goal of ZERO FATALITIES by negligent driving.

I PROMISE TO NOT DRIVE DISTRACTED.

I PROMISE TO NOT DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE.

I PROMISE TO PULL OVER OR HAVE ANOTHER HANDLE ANY COMMUNICATION NECESSARY.

I PROMISE TO ALWAYS WEAR A SEATBELT. IT'S THE LAW! AND IT MAY BE THE ONLY CHANCE I HAVE TO MAKE THAT CHOICE COUNT.

I PROMISE TO NOT ENDANGER MYSELF OR THE LIVES OF OTHERS. IT IS NOT MY RIGHT TO NEGATIVELY ALTER THEIR LIVES.

I PROMISE TO RESPONSIBLY AVOID NEGLIGENT BEHAVIOR THAT COULD PUT ME, MY FAMILY OR THE FAMILY OF OTHERS THROUGH AN UNBEARABLE, LIFE-CHANGING TRAGEDY.

I UNDERSTAND DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT.

I UNDERSTAND ACCIDENTS HAPPEN.

FINALLY, I UNDERSTAND YOU DON'T GET  2ND CHANCES AT EVERYTHING. MAKE SURE YOU TREAT YOUR 1ST CHANCES WITH RESPECT.
