Cap & Gown Info

Seniors, if you have not ordered your cap and gown,  Herff Jones is taking orders once more through June 21st , on their website www.herfforlando.com The package cost is $85.  Late orders will be delivered at the school on June 25th.

Also, if your gown or graduation cap does not fit properlytoo large or too small, contact Ms. Morgan by  phone 386.258.4674 ext. 54651 or email [email protected]  to arrange an exchange.

If you were unable to attend Senior Celebration and pre-ordered a cap/gown package, pick up is scheduled on Friday May 29th anytime between 9 am – 3pm from the activities office.

    The BIG RED BOOK of Scholarships is not available in our guidance department at this time. However, below is a table of those scholarships in pdf format. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
    Please read the directions and deadline for each scholarship. Most of the scholarships have extended their deadlines, although it may not be reflected on the current version of the scholarship on this page.
    If the scholarship must be returned to the school, please take a picture of each page, then email them as attachments to [email protected] Please include a message with your name, alpha code and which scholarship you are including in the email. Each completed scholarship should be emailed separately.

    2020 OFFICIAL High School Graduation Schedule per VCS

    DAYTONA BEACH — The OFFICIAL graduation rehearsals and ceremonies are scheduled to be held for Volusia County high schools beginning July 6 and ending July 11.  Admission will be $3 per person.  Parking will be $5 for ceremonies at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center.  Tickets will be pre-sold by each of the high schools. (Tickets could be very limited per student to abide by social distancing guidelines.)

    To to receive your high school diploma, you must “clear” your obligation.  Return textbooks – includes DSC, & media materials to the media center; pay for a book or fine, go to the main office and see Mrs. Oberst.

Cash, money order or check (make check payable to: Herff Jones). Cap/Gown/Tassel are required to participate in Senior Awards, Baccalaureate, and Graduation. Orders placed after 12/31/19, will be $85 (includes a $20 late fee)

     

    Nov 19   SENIOR PARENT & FINANCIAL AID NIGHT: SHS Cafeteria. 5:00 – 7:00 PM Itinerary: Cap/Gown orders; 5-7 PM, Parent Meeting; 5:30-6 PM, Financial Aid meeting 6-7 PM with local Financial Institutions in attendance.

     

    Apr 18    JR/SR PROM:  Daytona 500 Club, Daytona International Speedway ? 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm. $40 ticket. Formal attire required.  Seniors may invite a non-SHS student to the prom.  Prom guest permission forms (for a non-SHS student) can be picked up from Student Resources (NOTE: No admittance to Prom beyond 10 pm)

     

    Apr 25     GRAD BASH 2020: $120. Parent permission & notarized activity/medical waiver form required.  Arrive by 4:00 pm, dressed appropriately. Meet in the auditorium.  Departing SHS for Universal Orlando @ 4:30 pm. Approximate time of return - 3:45 am.  (Bring spending $$).

                                                                                   

    MAY 19    SENIOR AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIP NIGHT: Seabreeze Auditorium 6:00 PM.  Seniors receiving an award and/or scholarship(s) will be notified by special invitation. Invitations in the mail May 5th. Senior recipients are to arrive by 5:00 pm, *wearing cap & gown. Report to the cafeteria to check in.

     

    MAY 20    DISTINGUISHED HONORS BANQUET: Daytona Shores Resort & Spa 6:00 PM.  Invitations mailed Apr 30th to Honor Graduates, who at end of the 1st semester, have a min. cumulative weighted 3.5 G.P.A. & above.   RSVP & payment due on or before May 15TH to Mrs. Oberst 258-4674 ext. 54614.  Dress:  Semi-formal banquet attire.

     

    MAY 21    BACCALAUREATE:  “To Be Determined”   6:00 PM – A PTSA sponsored service. Seniors are to arrive by 5:15 pm *wearing cap & gown.

     

    MAY 27    Mandatory GRADUATION REHEARSAL: Report to the Ocean Center no later than 7:30 AM.   Be prompt!  Arrive dressed in the same manner as if attending school.  Seniors who do not attend rehearsal cannot participate in the graduation ceremony.     MAY 29     GRADUATION CEREMONY: Daytona Beach Ocean Center ? 7:30 PM.   The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 PM.  Seniors are to report to the Ocean Center no later than 6:15 pm *wearing caps & gowns.  Admission $_ per person - Parking $_ per vehicle.  Tickets will be presold at Seabreeze-Main Office starting May 13-May 28.  It’s recommended you purchase tickets in advance & they must be picked up in the main office within 48 hours of purchase.  Tickets also available at the venue.  There is no limit to the number of graduation tickets you may purchase.

    Boys---White Collared Shirt ? Tie ? A place to store your cell phone - pocket ? Dark Pants ? Dark Shoes – no flip flops ? Nothing added to your cap and gown

    Girls---Dresses/Skirts that do not fall below your gown ? Cell phones not visible /in garment – (pocket). ? Shoes – no flip flops ? Nothing added to your cap and gown ? Purses – please do not bring with you


    Parking Passes are per vehicle. Graduation tickets are $ per person (excludes graduates). Tickets will be available to purchase beginning on May   from the main office at Seabreeze High School. There is no limit on the number of tickets.  Tickets sold between classes, lunch, break, and after school.

    A bag policy for guests attending the graduation ceremonies at the Ocean Center and Edmunds Center:
    • Each ticket holder, including children, may carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse:
      • One clear bag no larger than 12"x6"x12" or a one-gallon clear Ziploc, or similar, bag
      • One small clutch bag or purse no larger than 6.5"x6.5", with or without a strap.
    • Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag; however, diaper bags are not permitted.
    • Additional clothing, blankets, etc. are permitted if carried loosely (preferably over the shoulder to be screened more quickly) or in an approved clear bag.
    • Small cameras, binoculars and cell phones may be carried loosely or in an approved clear bag.

    The Daytona Beach Police Department is requesting that those attending and participating in the graduation ceremonies at the Ocean Center use the Main Street Bridge to avoid additional delays.
